Global citizenship education is an educational approach that aims to promote a deep and critical understanding of global problems and intercultural issues, and to develop skills that enable individuals to participate actively and responsibly in global society.
The activities of the Environmental Education Centres are carried out by operators in environmental and sustainability education recognised by the Liguria Region.
The role and mission of the EAA are to foster educational, informative and training processes for sustainable development, working in synergy with schools and citizenship, and to support public administration in adopting good practices for better land governance.
With regard to government, the centres intervene by proposing and co-managing participatory processes of citizen involvement in the governance of territories (such as Local Agenda 21 processes), design and implement awareness-raising campaigns in support of local authority policies, and stimulate the networking of different stakeholders for the dissemination of good practices and the facilitation of local development projects for sustainability.
